During the past year I have built a profitable home based business that includes over a 1,000 active affiliates (this number is probably already much higher, but it’s impossible to count it) and generates 30K per month which exponentially keeps growing. Except the fact that I’m financially free, my life itself didn’t really change much. I don’t want to use the word “retirement” because it sounds a bit stupid for someone who’s only (almost) 26 years old. Let’s say that now I can do whatever I want, whenever I want. BUT the most important thing about all this is: what did I learn from building a profitable home based business?
How To Build A Profitable Home Based Business
So what did I learn during the past year?
Work hard, be patient, but most importantly: if you want to make more money, you need to make decisions that will lead you towards that particular goal. I also made some bad decisions during the past year, but that’s just part of the learning process. If something doesn’t work, don’t waste your time on trying to fix it. Move on and find a way to make it work. Some people confuse being patient with waiting until the money magically comes in. Understand that any type of business requires money or hard work or sometimes both at the same time.
You Don’t “Get” A Profitable Home Based Business Because You’re “Lucky”
There’s no luck involved. If you are working, but the team isn’t duplicating it’s simply because of the quality of the people that are involved. Look for people who are willing to make a change instead. You can’t force people to go to work and the more you try to brainwash certain people with pep talk, the less they will be inclined to work harder. Those kind of people always want more for doing less and will get very frustrated when they look at your results and notice that you are more successful. Don’t waste your time on people who have the all-talk-but-no-action syndrome. I rather invest time in people who only do a little, but are realistic and set achievable goals.
I learned a lot from several people. Even the people who aren’t able to teach you new things can still be very supportive and helpful during your journey. This brings me to the next point. If you surround yourself with the right people, you will also make better decisions. I got to know many amazing people that are more than just friends.
You Can’t Build A Profitable Home Based Business If You’re Afraid Of Making Money
Overcome the fear of making money! You can’t give what you don’t have. Sure, you can be a nice guy (which I was, still am I hope) and you can efface yourself all the time (which I basically did), but this only robbed me from my own energy. If you truly want to help people, you need to find a way to empower them. Stop tying other people’s shoes and teach them how to do it themselves. By the way, you wouldn’t want to be in a position where you are the one who’s always relying on others.
Be convinced of what you do and you won’t have to convince other people. Even if you have the best opportunity in the world, there will always be people who want to bring you down. Most of them do it out of insecurity. In this blog post you will learn why some of these people simply don’t want you to succeed. Keep in mind that I’m also not Superman. “I’m just a guy” like my friend Ivan Airoldi would say.
I always loved doing presentations and sharing my knowledge with other people. I was already doing presentations at local meetings before, but I’ve only started doing webinars during the past year. My findings are that there’s not really a difference between off- and online presentations. I know that some people shy away from speaking to crowds, but in reality you just have to pretend that you are talking to 1 person. Read the following blog post if you want some business presentation tips. If you’re not willing to follow training webinars or seminars and you’re also not willing to teach other people, you will never be financially free in this industry.
Why I’m Reflecting On This
I’m totally convinced that in order to be successful you need to learn how to reflect properly. It’s like trying to find out why you failed at an exam, so that you can do better at the re-examination. (and I know how that feels like). The main goal is to make sure that your profitable home based business is growing. Don’t worry if you still have to make your first money from home. As long as you’re not focused on the “making money”-part, but rather on the actions that are required to succeed, I’m absolutely sure that in the near future you will also have a profitable home based business.
