My Guide To Optimizing Your SEO Strategy

Why Do You Need To Optimize Your SEO Strategy?

SEO (Search Engine Optimization) is the process of improving the visibility of a website in search engines (Google, Yahoo, Bing…). It’s a fact that most people only visit approximately the first 7 websites that they find for a certain keyword. All website owners have one important thing common and that’s wanting to be found by potential visitors and customers. So therefore they need to get their websites to the top of search engines.

You can split SEO into 2 main methods that include many different strategies and techniques: on page SEO and off page SEO.

SEO Strategy: On Page SEO

When you’re doing your on page SEO, you’re working as an inventor. You have to do research on a particular subject while analyzing the opportunities that the chosen subject creates.

Before writing an article or recording a video, you need to make sure that people are actually looking for similar content and another important factor is the competition. The more competition there is, the more difficult it will be to take the top spots in search engines. Google Adwords Tool is a great tool that can help you to analyze subjects.

The most important aspect of on page SEO is the content of your website itself. You need to add the right meta tags to your website. In addition, WordPress for example offers many different plugins (most of them are even free) to aid you with your on page SEO. Obviously it’s pretty stupid to add sports terms as meta tags when I’m discussing “how to optimize your SEO strategy”? My main keywords are “SEO strategy”, so therefore my content and meta tags needs to be focused on those 2 words.

In the end, what you are trying to achieve is that people find what they are looking for. Therefore it’s important to analyze your internet traffic. My 2 favorite tools that give you information regarding your internet traffic are Feedjit and Google Analytics.

SEO Strategy: Off Page SEO

Off page SEO is the networking part of your website. In order to optimize your website you need to “sell” the content of your website on the internet. Search engines will pick up what you have to offer and thank you by giving your website great rankings.

Basically, you have to be able to create backlinks. You can create backlinks by placing the url of your website on the internet. Every website has a certain PageRank, which is a score from 0 to 9. The higher the PageRank of a website, the more visible your content is to search engines. So besides from trying to achieve a great PageRank of your own website, backlinks on other websites with a high PageRank will also improve your rankings.

Off Page SEO Strategy Tools

There are many different tools to create backlinks easily and automatically:

Onlywire is an automated submission tool which automatically places your url’s on social bookmarketing sites. By pushing one button you can place your website link on more than 40 social network websites like Facebook, Twitter and Myspace. You can even create several free Onlywire accounts per IP address.

Scrapebox is a great tool that allows you to scrape blog sites and do automatic or manual commenting.

SocialMonkee is another free social bookmarking tool that creates unique backlinks to your website.

Link wheels and pyramid wheels

These constructions create a network of internet traffic in which people get directed to your website. In addition, search engines recognize your high quality links which improves your rankings. Go and look for some cool free blog websites that you can use for it, for instance blog.com, livejournal, blogger.com and thoughts.

Learning how to optimize your website is not something that you can just do overnight. Keep in mind that some of these strategies require a lot of research. But as the saying goes: experience is the best teacher. I’m sure that there are other great tools out there, but as you know: the internet is endless. I hope that this short guide to optimizing your SEO strategy can help you to monetize your website(s).
