What Is AdvoCare?
AdvoCare International, L.P. is a nutrition, weight-loss and skin-care network marketing company. The company was founded in 1993 by former Herbalife distributor Charles Ragus who died on June 1, 2001 at the age 58 and employs around 250 people in the United States. AdvoCare has its headquarters in Carollton, Texas and is known as an American top ten network marketing company. The company slogan is “we build champions”, let’s have a look at how they do that.
The AdvoCare Products
The AdvoCare product line includes protein shakes and snacks, nutrition, energy and fitness supplements and skin care products. Through the years there has been some controversy about the AdvoCare products. In 2008 Olympic swimmer, Jessica Hardy tested positive for clenbuterol. Jessica claimed that she had never heard of clenbuterol and therefore she stated that she must have used a tainted nutritional supplement. In the end, the arbitration hearing stated that the AdvoCare products were contaminated and reduced Hardy’s suspension. Another example of controversy is the story about the product “KickStart Spark”; a product that AdvoCare no longer distributes. It was targeted to youth age 4-11 while containing 60 mg of caffeine. Although AdvoCare has a medical advisory board with medical professionals, apparently the quality of the products isn’t a 100% ensured. On the other hand, there are many great testimonials that speak in their advantage.
The Advocare Compensation Plan
Joining AdvoCare costs a membership fee of $80.00. You will receive $60.00 worth of products, including some promotion materials and several AdvoCare products. The Advocare compensation plan offers 5 different money income streams: Retail Commissions, Whole Sale commissions, Overrides, (Commissions On Downline Sales), Leadership Bonuses and Incentives, Trips and Pay Period Bonuses. Conclusion:
AdvoCare is solid business opportunity that is currently in the top ten of best selling network marketing companies. Besides the many athletes who use the AdvoCare products, the company also sponsors diverse sport events and championships. However, AdvoCare offers products that are also to be found in retail shops. Maybe you can find better products for a better price in your neighbourhood store. Of course, if you choose to buy these products, you won’t make an extra income.
The AdvoCare compensation plan isn’t special and therefore it hasn’t got more to offer than any other network marketing company. But for a skilled distributor it doesn’t matter how the compensation plan is constructed. Someone who doesn’t know how to promote his business effectively can work many years with the company with the best compensation plan and the best products… he or she will never make money. On the other hand, if you know how to brand yourself and your AdvoCare business, you can succeed with every business opportunity.
